Parameshwara College
was founded by the veteran philanthropist Sir.Ponampalam Ramanathan in August 1921.
I am T.Mahalinga Iyer , an old student of this famous scholl from 1949 to 1959.
No one has put any information regarding this school in the web so far.I thought it is proper to put some information
about the school and its history for the benifit of future generations

History
Parameshwara College
was founded by the veteran philanthropist Sir.Ponampalam Ramanathan in August 1921.
His monumental contribution to education has been the establishment of two Schools,
the Ramanathan
College for girls established at Chunnakam in 1913, and Parameshwara College for boys, eight years
later. The latter has since become the Jaffna University Campus

The Sri Lankan Goverment took over Parameshwara College in 1974 and made it the Jaffna Campus, later it became
University of Jaffna
